| Copper prices gained 0.2% to
reach USD 9,683.5 per tonne after data show China's imports record
rebounded for the first time in 3 months.
According to statistics, China's copper
imports soared by 10% to 280,009 tonnes in June.
Moreover, it's predicted that the heavy
rains in Chile may push the red metal prices to advance. It's known that
BHP Billiton has suspended operation at its Escondida mine in Chile due to
rain. In addition, strike action may take place at National Copper
Corporation of Chile.
