China's imports and exports of nonferrous metals will continue to climb this year, but exports will grow at a slower pace due to trade friction, Jia Mingxing, deputy chairman of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, said Tuesday.
Imports and exports of nonferrous products reached a new high of $160.68 billion last year. Exports totaled $43.16 billion, up 52.1 percent year-on-year, much higher than the import growth, which indicates the increasing trade frictions.
"Although we are still going to see an increased trading volume this year, the frequent trade frictions will result in the growth being relatively low," Jia commented.
