SteelHome Morning Express (11 June 2019)

SteelHome (China) Steel Price Index (SHCNSI) was 96.77 points (4,186 yuan) on 10 June 2019, down 0.36 point (15 yuan) from the previous trading day. Steel price in key markets mainly decreased. Details are as below:

Construction steel: 20mm HRB400 rebar averaged at 4017 yuan per ton, down 22 yuan/t from previous trading day. Among them, price decreased by 10-50 yuan/t except 30 yuan rise in Urumqi and stability in Changsha, Harbin and Kunming markets.

Medium plate: 20mm Q235B medium plat price averaged at 4016 yuan per ton in 28 domestic markets, down 14 yuan/t from previous trading day. Price decreased by 10-50 yuan/t in East China, Central South China, North China and Southwest China markets, while price in Northeast China kept stable.

HRC: Price decreased in partial markets. 5.75mm Q235B HRC average price was decreased by 20 yuan to 3890 yuan per ton in 28 domestic markets. Among the whole markets, price went down by 10-70 yuan/t except stability in Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Lecong, Nanning, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Harbin and Lanzhou markets.

CRC: average price of 1.0mm SPCC CRC was 4255 yuan per ton in 28 domestic markets, down 14 yuan/t from previous trading day. Price was decreased by 10-50 yuan/t in East China, Central South China, North China, Northeast China and Southwest China markets.

On 10 June, Tangshan common billet price was decreased by 20 yuan to 3480 yuan per ton, (cash, tax included, ex-works). Spot products in Tangshan billet market were priced at 3560 yuan per with flat transaction.

On 10 June, iron ore market continued heading up. SteelHome data showed that China Domestic Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNDOI) 65% was 845 yuan per ton, down 2 yuan/t and SteelHome Imported Iron Ore Price Index (SHCNIOI) 62% was 98.5 dollars per ton, up 1.81 dollar/t from previous day.

Spot ore transacting price hiked by 5 yuan/t at China ports, For instance, PB fines trading price was 758yuan per ton at Rizhao port and PB fines at Tianjin port were traded at 775 yuan per ton with increasing transactions.

Seaborne market slightly hiked. GlobalORE platform trading price was 105.2 dollars/t for 0.17 million tons 62%BRBF fines with laycan during 8-17 July 2019.
