On September 20, train No.71402 departed from Shenmu West Station, marking the successful operation of the first 10,000-ton heavy haul trains in Shaanxi. This is of great significance for further upgrading the volume of bulk cargo such as coal in Shaanxi and other places.
Train No. 71402 consists of 105 carriages with a total weight of 10,277 tons. It starts from Shenmu West Station and heads to the Caofeidian West Station in Tangshan, Hebei Province. The entire journey is more than 1,200 kilometers.
According to the statistics of Xi'an Bureau Group Corporation, in 2018, the Baoxi Railway Line, which is the important role of Shaanxi coal transportation, transported 63.19 million tons of coal. After the 10,000-ton train was operated, the total coal volume of the Baoxi Railway Line is expected to exceed 72.4 million tons, an increase of 14.5% on year.
