China's power consumption in September reached 602 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), up 4.4% on year, the National Energy Administration (NEA) announced on October 14th.
Power use in primary industries rose 5.8% to 7.7 billion kWh in October; industrial use of electricity was 377.4 billion kWh, up 3.6%, while the tertiary industry consumed 110.6 billion kWh of power, up 8.5%. Household power consumption of urban and rural residents was 106.3 billion kWh, an increase of 3.3% on year.
From January to October, electricity consumption of China was 5.3442 trillion kWh, up 4.4% on year. Power use in primary industries rose 4.7% to 58.1 billion kWh; industrial use of electricity was 3.5857 trillion kWh, up 3.0%, while the tertiary industry consumed 899.4 billion kWh of power, up 8.7%. Household power consumption of urban and rural residents was 801 billion kWh, an increase of 6.3% on year.
