On November 3, the ex-factory price of standard first metcoke (wet basis) keeps stable at 1800-1850 yuan/t (in cash) in Xuzhou area, Jiangsu province. Quotation of metcoke (dry basis) keeps stable at 2100 yuan/t and the transaction price up by 30 yuan/t to 2080 yuan/t, manufacturers plan to rise the quotation of coke by another 50 yuan to 2150 yuan/t.

Some steel mills in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River have recently experienced a rapid consumption of coke inventory. Due to shipping blockades, the arrival time of coke has been delayed and traders’ enthusiasm for coke procurement has improved.

In addition, some coking plants that were undergoing the coke quenching reform in the early days have entered the resumption stage of production and are expected to resume within a month.
