The Central Economic Working Conference, held in December 12, 2019, pointed out that in 2020, “the trajectory of China’s economy toward more steady growth has not changed and will remain so in the long run”, made a series of major arrangements such as “fighting the three tough battles” and “speeding up the construction of modern economic system”, and highlighted the importance of the campaign for cleaner air, water and soil.
Such movements will have great impacts on the development of coal industry, with its core of transforming the traditional methods for developing coal industry, catering for the demands on high-quality development in the new era, and unswervingly implementing a sustainable growth strategy for coal industry.
It is undeniable that coal production causes ecological and environment problems, and thus we must face up to environmental protection issue. For this, efforts should be made from the following five aspects:
First, implementing intelligent ecological management and control. Second, protecting and utilizing underwater resources in mining areas. Third, carrying out major projects to protect and restore key ecosystems. Fourth, constructing smart filling system for mined-out area. Fifth, insisting on combining ecological governance with scientific exploitation and utilization.
