Bulgaria's Industrial Production Index (IPI) decreased by 6.9 percent year on year in March and by 5.1 percent compared with February, the country's National Statistical Institute (NSI) said Friday.
Preliminary NSI data showed that on an annual basis, March's IPI fell by 9.8 percent in the manufacturing sector and by 0.4 percent in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, while in the mining and quarrying industry, production went up by 12.3 percent.
On a monthly basis, the production index for the manufacturing sector in March went down by 6.9 percent, while production rose in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 5.6 percent and in the mining and quarrying industry by 1.0 percent, the NSI said.
