Iron ore shipments to China from Australia’s Port Hedland terminal, the
world’s biggest iron ore port, increased by 10% to 39.72 million tons in
October from 35.96 million tons in the same month a year before, port
data showed on Wednesday.
Overall iron ore shipments totaled at 46.48 million tons in October, up
11% from 42.19 million tons in the same month a year before.
Port Hedland is used by three of Australia's top four iron ore miners,
BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Gina Rinehart's Hancock
Prospecting.
