Japan’s steelmaker Kobe Steel announced to raise its domestic and export prices of steel bar and wire rod by 15,000 yen/ton, applicable to the shipment from April.
The price adjustment was due to the increase in raw material costs and transportation costs. The company’s steel bar and wire rod prices have been rising since last September, and the increase has totaled more than 50,000 yen since the fiscal year 2020.
