As per statistics from General Administration of Customs, China exported
steel of 8.356 million tons in May, up 597,000 tons or 7.7% year on
year. Steel import in May totaled 631,000 tons, down 175,000 tons or
21.7% year on year.
In January-May, 2023, China exported steel of 36.369 million tons, up
10.55 million tons or 40.9% year on year. Import totaled 3.129 million
tons, down 1.85 million tons or 37.1%.
