India’s leading steel producer Tata Steel reported its crude steel production totaled 5.32 million tons at its India unit in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2023-24, rising by 6% compared to the previous quarter and the same period a year ago. In the first nine months of the fiscal year, the company’s crude steel production grew by 4% year on year.
In the third quarter, Tata Steel’s steel delivery reached 4.88 million tons, boosted by higher domestic demand, hitting the best-ever sales for the third quarter. In the first nine months of the fiscal year 2024, the company achieved its highest-ever deliveries, a year-on-year increase of 6%.
Besides, Tata Steel Netherlands’ crude steel production was 1.17 million tons in the third quarter, and deliveries totaled 1.29 million tons, up by 5% quarter on quarter. Tata Steel UK’s crude steel output slid quarter on quarter to 0.73 million tons due to operational issues, and deliveries dropped quarter on quarter and year on year to 0.63 million tons on weak demand.
