In 2023, China's gross domestic product (GDP) experienced a year-on-year growth of 5.2 percent, surpassing the targeted annual rate of around 5 percent, official data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Wednesday.
The recorded GDP for the year reached a historic high of 126.06 trillion yuan (approximately 17.71 trillion U.S. dollars), according to the NBS.
In the fourth quarter of 2023, the Chinese economy exhibited a year-on-year expansion of 5.2 percent, as reported by the NBS.
