Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH has awarded SMS group a contract for the supply of control systems and process models from the X-Pact® product family for its hot strip mill in Salzgitter. The scope of supply also includes the X-Pact® Integrated Temperature Model as a learning and self-optimizing process control function. The X-Pact® Plant Pacing system optimizes the throughput and productivity across the entire plant.
In addition, the supply scope also includes the integrated strip guiding control system, X-Pact® Centerline Control, which uses a camera system to detect deviations in strip flow and calculate the correction signal for each rolling mill stand.
