According to the European Steel Association (EUROFER), in the first 11 months of 2023, steel imports of the EU declined by 11% compared with the previous year. Specifically, imports of rolled products declined by 9% and imports of long products declined by 25%.
During the mentioned period, the EU's main finished steel suppliers were India (13.7%), South Korea (13.1%), China (11.4%), Vietnam (10.2%), Taiwan (9.5%), Turkey, and Japan.
The EU imported 51% and 13% less finished steel from Turkey and China, and it imported 32% and 38% more from Japan and Vietnam.
Meanwhile, long product imports, as revealed by statistics, accounted for 21% of the EU's total finished steel imports
