According to data from Canacero, Mexico's steel industry association, in December of 2023, Mexico's steel imports totaled about 848,000 tons, growing by 7.2% year on year.
During the whole year of 2023, Mexico's steel imports amounted to about 10.35 million tons, growing by 21.3% year on year. Among them, the US was the main import source, with 4.07 million tons, increasing by 11.1% year on year. The following was South Korea, with about 1.94 million tons and increasing by 4.4% year on year.
