Austrian steelmakers saw a 4.5% increase in steel production in January 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, totaling 623,000 tons. Additionally, there was a 3% growth in steel production from December 2023 to January 2024.
Austria is home to two Voestalpine steel plants: Voestalpine Stahl Linz, with an annual steel output of 6 million tons, and Voestalpine Stahl Donawitz, with an annual steel output of 1.57 million tons. Combined, these plants have a total capacity of 7.57 million tons per year, achieving a capacity utilization rate of 94.2% in 2023.
