In 2023, the EU’s flat product imports decreased by 8% from the previous year to 20.11 million tons. Among them, Asian countries were the main import sources, including South Korea (about 3.1 million tons), India (about 2.73 million tons), Taiwan (about 2.38 million tons), Vietnam (about 2.12 million tons), and Japan (about 1.75 million tons)
During the same period, the EU’s hot-rolled coils imports were about 10.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.2%. The EU’s finished steel products imports were 27.07 million tons, decreasing by 12% year on year.
