According to statistics from the Japan Steel Alliance, in February 2024, Japan exported 2.52 million tons of steel, a year-on-year decrease of 4.1%. Among them, the export volume of ordinary steel was 1.705 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.4%. The exports of Japan's main types of steel in February: 864,000 tons of HRC, a year-on-year decrease of 7.4%; 120,000 tons of CRC , a year-on-year decrease of 3.0%; 212,000 tons of heavy plate, a year-on-year decrease of 19.1%; 185,000 tons of galvanized steel sheet, a year-on-year decrease of 6.9%.
The main export markets of steel of Japan in February were: 455,000 tons were exported to South Korea, a year-on-year decrease of 15.2%; 324000 tons were exported to Thailand, a year-on-year decrease of 18.9%; 216000 tons were exported to China, a year-on-year decrease of 8.5%; 129000 tons were exported to Taiwan, China, up 11.2% year on year; 102,000 tons were exported to the United States, a year-on-year decrease of 8.6%.
