According to statistics, Brazil exported 313 thousand tons of pig iron in June, soared by 35.5% year on year.
Among them, 191 thousand tons were exported to the US, down by 2.1%; 50 thousand tons were to China; 26 thousand tons were to Mexico, hiked substantially by 8,476.7%; all compared to that in the same period of last year.
The data also showed that Brazil exported 1.956 million tons of pig iron in the first six months of this year, increased by 58.4% year on year.
Among them, 1.332 million tons were exported to the US, rose by 56.1%; 242 thousand tons were to China, soared by 259.7%; 107 thousand tons were to Netherland, increased by 197.4%; 104 thousand tons were to Taiwan, up by 6.3% and 76 thousand tons were to Mexico, down by 25.45%; all compared to that in the same period of last year.
Accordingly, it's estimated that Brazil would export 3.91 million tons of pig iron in the entire 2011.
