Nickel ore
shipments to China are expected to reach a new high of 61.9 million
tonnes in 2012, even as the growth rate of imports retreats, according
to a senior nickel trader.
"China's
nickel ore imports will still grow but at a slower pace this year,” said
Wen Quan, vice general manager of Ningxia Jiyuan Minerals, a
medium-sized nickel ore trader and nickel pig iron producer in Ningxia
province. The annual growth rate may shrink to 29% in 2012
