China Steel Corporation (CSC), the largest carbon steel manufacturer in Taiwan, announced its new prices for March today (February 1), with an average increase of 2.5%, considering the rising cost of raw materials for steelmaking as well as the competitiveness of downstream industries.
According to the price announcement, the prices of hot-rolled plates, hot-rolled general materials, cold-rolled general materials, hot-dip galvanized steel coil for construction, and pre-painted materials were raised by NT$700/ton, the price of hot-rolled rolling materials was hiked by NT$450/ton, and that of electrical steel (ES) coils was increased by NT$2,000-2,500/ton, depending on its grades.
