ArcelorMittal France is planning to reopen blast furnace No. 4 located in Dunkirk in May while the reopening plan of blast furnace A at the plant in Gijón is still uncertain.
Blast furnace No. 4 was ceased due to a fire on Mar 30 previously.
ArcelorMittal France's Dunkirk site has three blast furnaces with a hot-rolled coil capacity of 4.6 million tons per year. For now, only blast furnace No. 3 is running. Blast furnace No. 2 has stopped production since June 2022.
Due to the frequent accidents, ArcelorMittal's delivery has been postponed.
