German steel company Thyssenkrupp is having a constructive and open negotiation with the energy utility Energetický a průmyslový holding (EPH) for the potential cooperation to set up a joint venture with its steel division Steel Europe, with EPH’s support of its expertise in the energy sector.
Thyssenkrupp said the collaboration with EPH will help the company reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, the steel company is seeking possible strategic partners for the energy field because whether to successfully achieve emissions neutrality largely depends on the secure supply of large amounts of green energy at competitive prices.
