According to statistics from the Korea Steel Association, in 2023, South Korea imported about 920,000 tons of slab, a year-on-year decrease of 7.5%, of which about 800,000 tons were imported from Japan, accounting for 87%; and approximately 100,000 tons were imported from China, accounting for 10.9%.
