According to preliminary data from the US Census Bureau, in February, Latin American steel exports to the US totaled about 786,000 tons, decreasing by 4.6% month on month but growing by 15.8% year on year. Meanwhile, the export value amounted to about US$710 million.
Among them, Brazil accounted for the largest proportion of Latin American steel exports to the US, with about 459,000 tons, slightly increasing by 1.8% month on month and climbing by 43.5% year on year. Besides, the US’ steel imports from Mexico and Argentina were about 298,000 tons and 25,000 tons, respectively.
