According to a semi-annual report disclosed by China Shenhua Energy Company Limited on the evening of August 23, the company released operating income of 116.3 billion yuan in the first half of 2019, down 8.6% on a yearly basis, completed 52.6% of the annual business target. Net profit during this period totaled 24.243 billion yuan, up 5.5% on year.
According to China Shenhua, the main reason for the decline in operating income during the period was the decline in coal sales volume and prices.
In the first half of 2019, the company achieved a commercial coal output of 145 million tons, down 0.3% on year; 50.1% of the annual business target was completed.
China Shenhua achieved 217 million tons of coal sales in the first half of 2019, down 3.6% on year; the average selling price of coal was 420 yuan/t, down 2.8% on year.
