According to statistics from the Korea Steel Association, from January to May 2023, South Korea imported a total of 1.61 million tons of HRC, a year-on-year increase of 34.4%. Among them, HRC imported from Japan was 967,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 44.8%, accounting for 60%; HRC imported from China was 605,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 44.5%, accounting for 37.5%.
In May 2023, South Korea’s import of HRC was 268,000 tons, a decrease of 7.9% month on month.
