According to statistics from the Korea Steel Association, from January to September 2023, South Korea imported a total of 2.812 million tons of HRC. Among them, 1.692 million tons were imported from Japan, a year-on-year increase of 45.7%, and 1.07 million tons from China, a year-on-year increase of 33.4%.
In September 2023, the average import prices of South Korea’s HRC imports from Japan and China were $600/ton and $592/ton, respectively.
