Metso Outotec Corporation, a Finnish global engineering and
technology company, announced that it had inaugurated the world's
largest service center in Karratha, Western Australia, designed to
meet growing customer demand for more sustainable, state-of-the-art
services for operators in the state, located in the Pilbara region.
The total investment in the Karratha Service Center is approximately
EUR 32 million and covers an area of 35,000 square meters, including
a 5,000 square meter workshop.
Metso said it contributes to customers' sustainability goals by
extending the operational life of assets, improving energy and water
efficiency, and minimizing plant downtime. In addition, by reducing
the need for long-distance freight between Perth and the Pilbara
region, the center reduces carbon emissions and provides faster
delivery of critical spare parts. This not only benefits the
environment but also improves operational efficiency.
