According to the sunset review of anti-dumping (AD) orders on non-oriented electrical steels from China, Japan, South Korea, Germany, Sweden and Taiwan. US decided to extend the existing AD duties by another five years, and the countervailing duties (CVD) on Taiwan and China will be maintained, too.
The US Department of Commerce (USDOC) and the US International Trade Commission (USITC) made the determination since they ruled that the cancellation of the existing AD and CVD duties would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time.
In November 2014, the US imposed 408% AD duties on China, 86%-99% on Germany, 136%-205% on Japan, 6.9% on South Korea, 98%-127% on Sweden, and 9%-52% on Taiwan. Besides, the CVD rate for China is 159% and that for Taiwan is 9%-17%.
