The US’ apparent consumption of scrap increased from 48 million tons in 2022 to 50 million tons in 2023.
Among them, compared 2023 to 2022, the scrap volume from domestic mills increased from 4.7 million tons to 5.1 million tons, but the procurement of scrap decreased from 59 million tons to 58 million tons.
In specific, Canada was the main US’ scrap import source, and Turkey was the biggest US’ scrap export destination.
