According to statistics, Thailand imported around 91,100 tons of ferrous scrap in December last year, falling by 16% compared to the previous month. Among them, imports from the US accounted for a large proportion, totaling roughly 25,600 tons, followed by 10,700 tons from Australia and 9,300 tons from South Korea.
In the whole year of 2023, Thailand’s scrap imports amounted to 1.23 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 23%.
