According to statistics from the Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand, in January, Thailand’s finished steel production was about 549,000 tons, decreasing by 12.2% from the same month a year ago. Among them, the output of long products was about 347,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 21.8%. Meanwhile, the flat products output totaled about 202,000 tons, increasing by 11.3% year on year.
During the same month, Thailand’s consumption of finished steel reached 1.39 million tons, slightly decreasing by 3.3% compared to the corresponding period a year ago. In specific, the long product consumption decreased by about 50% year on year to 539,000 tons.
