According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April, Turkey’s billet imports hiked by more than one time year on year to about 404,000 tons. Among them, Turkey’s billet imports from Russia amounted to about 212,000 tons, increasing by 83% year on year.
In the first four months, Turkey’s billet imports amounted to 1.33 million tons, soaring by 132% year on year. Among them, Russia was the main import source, with about 567,000 tons. The followings were Algeria (about 274,000 tons) and Oman (about 170,000 tons).
