According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s pig iron imports increased by 90% year on year to about 173,000 tons.
Among them, Russia was the main import source, accounting for 68% of the total, with around 118,000 tons. The following was Brazil, supplying about 55,000 tons.
In the first five months, Turkey imported pig iron with 653,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.13%. Among them, the imports from Russia amounted to about 428,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 34.1%. The followings were Ukraine (about 77,000 tons), India (about 74,000 tons), and Brazil (about 55,000 tons).
