In the first six months of this year, Indonesia’s billet imports totaled about 2 million tons, increasing by 17% from the same period a year ago. Among them, Oman was the main import source, with 1.1 million tons. The following was Russia, with about 445,000 tons.
In the same period, Indonesia’s billet exports were 1.15 million tons, increasing by 13% year on year. Taiwan was the main Indonesian export destination, with about 217,000 tons. The following was the Philippines, with about 207,000 tons.
In Jun alone, Indonesia’s billet imports decreased by 35% month on month to 265,000 tons and exports soared by 118% month on month to 276,000 tons.
