Arifin Tasrif, Indonesia’s Minister for Energy and Mineral Resources, said that Indonesia planned to include nickel shipments in the government's online tracking system from 2024 in order to improve industry governance by controlling shipments in the supply chain.
The online system, called SIMBARA, can track the flow of ore from mines to buyers, and it is available to various government agencies.
The Indonesian government is formulating the policy at present and hopes it can cover the nickel industry next year.
