Indonesia has officially filed a lawsuit with the World Trade Organization (WTO) regarding the EU's imposition of anti-dumping (AD) duties on stainless steel cold-rolled flat products.
Bara Krishna Hasibuan, the Special Staff to the Minister of Trade for International Agreements, said that it was the third case they filed concerning the trade dispute with the EU about stainless steel cold-rolled flat products at the WTO panel.
The EU has levied countervailing duties (CVD) on stainless steel cold-rolled flat products from Indonesia and India with a duty rate of 21% and 7.5% respectively since 2021. The AD duty rate which has been imposed by the EU since 2021 is in the range from 10.2% to 31.5%.
Bara said that Indonesia’s annual losses could reach EUR 40 million or IDR 569.1 billion due to the imposition of AD and CVD duties.
