According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s semi-finished steel imports totaled around 4.3 million tons in the first eight months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 42%.
Among them, imports from Russia accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 2.3 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2%. Algeria ranked second with around 420,000 tons, up by 16.2% year on year. Malaysia followed with a supply of 370,000 tons, compared to zero tonnage in the same period a year ago.
