According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s slab imports totaled around 193,000 tons in September, rising by 24.4% compared to the same month a year ago.
Among them, imports from Russia occupied 59% of the total, amounting to roughly 115,000 tons, a slight year-on-year decrease of 0.5%.
Brazil ranked second with a share of 27%, with approximately 51,700 tons. Malaysia took the third position, with around 27,100 tons, a proportion of 14% in September. The country didn’t export slabs to Turkey last September.
