According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s wire rod exports totaled around 517,000 tons in the first ten months of this year, dropping by 52% compared to the same period a year ago. The export value was down by 61% year on year to roughly US$337 million.
Among them, Israel was the main export destination with roughly 197,000 tons, a year-on-year drop of 16.4%. Romania followed with around 99,600 tons, down by 17% year on year. Australia ranked third with 39,600 tons, up by 30% year on year.
In October alone, Turkey exported around 99,000 tons of wire rods, hiking by 82% from the preceding month and by 41% from the same month a year earlier. The export value was up by 87% month on month and by 23% year on year to US$59.6 million.
