According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s wire rod exports amounted to around 612,000 tons in the first 11 months of last year, dropping by 46% compared to the same period a year ago. The export value was down by 56% year on year to roughly US$390 million.
Among them, Israel was the main export destination with roughly 199,800 tons, a year-on-year drop of 25%. Romania followed with around 152,200 tons, up by 22.2% year on year. Australia ranked third with 41,700 tons, up by 30% year on year.
In November alone, Turkey exported around 93,000 tons of wire rods, falling by 9% from the preceding month and rising by 70% from the same month a year earlier. The export value was down by 11% month on month and by 34% year on year to US$39.2 million.
