Preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) showed that in January this year, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to about 70,000 tons, down by 33.8% month on month and up by 52.2% year on year. At the same time, the export value was about US$43.01 million, decreasing by 33.8% month on month but increasing by 33.8% year on year.
In the same month, Turkey's largest wire rod export destination was Romania, with an export volume of around 16,000 tons, soaring by 302% from the same month a year ago. The exports to Senegal was about 7,000 tons.
