The data declared by the Ministry of Finance Japan showed that in January 2024, Japan’s H-section steel exports amounted to about 164,000 tons, hiking by 43.2% month on month but decreasing by 12.5% year on year.Among them, South Korea was the main exported destination, with 138,000 tons. Other destinations included Taiwan (about 13,000 tons) and Singapore (about 100 tons).
During the same month, the H-section steel imports were 70,000 tons. In specific, the imports from South Korea and China were about 39,000 and 31,000 tons, respectively.
