According to customs statistics, Japan’s scrap exports totaled around 6.3 million tons in the first 11 months of this year, rising by 8% compared to the year-ago level.
Among them, the exports to South Korea accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 2.48 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 15.3%. Vietnam ranked second with around 1.46 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 17%; followed by Taiwan's 893,000 tons, a year-on-year hike of 61%.
In November alone, Japan exported around 496,000 tons of scrap, down by 1.2% compared to the same month last year.
